Introduction

The Perceptor desktop application, website and API authenticate using Entra ID.

The recommended way of doing this is by registering Perceptor in your Entra ID. This allows your users to authenticate themselves using their existing logins.

This is the most convenient and secure way to authenticate, since you remain in full control of your users, password policies, etc., and because users will not need to remember an additional username and password in order to log in to Perceptor.

To allow your users to authenticate with Perceptor, you will need to set up a Group in Entra ID for the users who will use Perceptor and register apps in your Entra ID tenant.

Please follow the steps:

1. Set up a group and add users in your Entra ID
2. Register the Desktop App in your Entra ID
3. Register Perceptor Management Console in your Entra ID
4. Enter your details in Perceptor Licencing
5. Install IIS
6. Install Server Prerequisite Software
7. Setup Perceptor Data API on IIS
8. Setup Perceptor Management Console on IIS
9. Database setup and connection strings
10. Firewall
