Barcodes to X-dimension - all you need to know is here

Barcodes: what barcode symbology can be verified with the T6000e and T8000?

1D

  • Code 128
  • EAN-8
  • EAN-13
  • UPC
  • 2of5 Interleaved
  • Code 39
  • Code 93

2D

  • DataMatrix
  • GS1 DataMatrix
  • QR Code
  • PDF417

Character height: what is the smallest character height with the T6000e and T8000?

5pt

Existing or new printers: can Perceptor IoT run with existing T6000e/T8000 printers or only new?

Perceptor IoT can run with both existing and new T6000/T8000 printers.

For existing printers, purchase an ODV-2D, upgrade the printer firmware and apply the feature file.

Failure mode: which failure modes are available with the T6000e and T8000?

  • Backfeed and overstrike
  • Backfeed retry and overstrike

Indicator light: is there a visible light which indicates label pass/fail?

Yes - an indicator light is provided as part of the Perceptor IoT hardware kit for both the T6000e and T8000 printers.

The light displays green as Perceptor successfully inspects and verifies labels. It displays red when a label is failed by Perceptor based on the inspection criteria selected for the label run.

Inspection speed: what is the maximum inspection speed available with the T6000e and T8000?

8”/203mm per second

Inspection types: what inspection types can be done with the T6000e and T8000?

ISO Barcode grading, OCR/OCV, print blemish and pattern match.

Label height: what is the smallest label height with the T6000e and T8000?

0.23”/6mm

Label print length: what is the maximum label print length available with the T6000e and T8000?

24”/609mm

Media types: what media type can be used with the T6000e and T8000?

Continuous, diecut and black mark.

Numerical sequence: can we do a sequence check using Perceptor IoT and the ODV2?

Perceptor IoT can check for a numerical sequence - e.g. 0001, 00002, 00003 - in an ascending order.
Two consecutive numbers are needed to build the sequence e.g.10001, 10002. If the next number in this sequence is 10004 then it will fail 10004 and also 10005.
However, it will continue with 10006 because that follows a sequence after 10005 and the preceding 10004.
The user also has the facility to put in an incremental step of 1,2,3,4,5 or say 10.

Print methods: what print methods are available with the T6000e and T8000?

Thermal transfer and direct thermal.

Printer models: which TSC Printronix printer models is Perceptor IoT compatible with?

T6000e - 4”

T8000 - 4” and 6”

Print modes: what print modes are available with the T6000e and T8000?

Tear-off, continuous and cutter.

Print resolution: what print resolution is available with the T6000e and T8000?

T6000e - 203/300/609 dpi

T8000 - 203/300 dpi

Print width: what is the maximum print width available with the T6000e and T8000?

4.09”/104mm and 6”/152mm.

Run without Perceptor: can Perceptor IoT be turned off and the T6000e/T80000 printer run without it?

Yes - disable the OCR symbology in the ODV settings.

X-dimension: what is the smallest X-dimension with the T6000e and T8000?

4” - 10mils/0.254mm

6” – 15 mils/0.381mm
