If your Zebra ZT600 printer firmware is currently V80 you will need to first upgrade the firmware with the V80 to V96 Transition firmware. You CANNOT upgrade straight from V80 to V96.

Please follow these instructions.

Use this download link from Perceptor to download the firmware upgrade package.

When you have downloaded the firmware, extract and run the zbi-key-40076 utility.

If your printer is already running V96 printer firmware then you can skip the steps to install the Transition firmware and go straight to STEP 2 below.

Open ZDownloader by running zbi-key-40076.exe

To detect your printer select /Printer/Auto Detect from the menu.

It is better to be connected with ethernet rather than USB. Ethernet is more reliable for downloading firmware to the printer.

STEP 1 – Installing V80 to V96 Transition Firmware

To install a freely available firmware, right click on the printer and choose the “Select Firmware File”.

If your printer is currently running V80 then select the "V80 to V96 Transition.zpl".

Select “Download to Selected” to install the firmware and let the printer reboot after installing.

STEP 2 - To install the Perceptor custom firmware

If your printer is already running V96 firmware, follow these instructions to install the Perceptor custom firmware on your printer. Note: it will require a licence key so make sure you have this to hand.

When the printer is booted and available, right click on the printer and select "Kit File".

Locate and select kit file SP96-006346BP74561.dss

If you are unable to see the full End User Licence Agreement, change the Taskbar settings to hide it when not using it.

With the taskbar hidden the Accept Terms is the box on the left.

ZDownloader will now show if ZPoints are required - if they are, select "Launch License Manager".

If ZPoints have already been applied to this printer, select "DEACTIVATE" these points first. The key will also appear in this instance - please continue with "DEACTIVATE".

Now select "ACTIVATE" for the menu.

Enter your licence key.

A popup message will confirm if successfully activated.

Return to ZDownloader and select "Download to Selected".

The Perceptor custom firmware will now be uploaded to the printer and, once rebooted, the printer is ready to be run with Perceptor IoT.
